Fakarava is known around the world as one of the finest diving destinations. It’s known for being a place where you can dive with hundreds of sharks. Jilly’s not a diver but Dan did join in on a dive here. Unfortunately it was the afternoon one and the sharks showed up earlier that morning.
Fakarava is also the place where we had the worse entrance into an atoll. It was downright hairy and possible the most intense 15 minutes of our entire crossing from Mexico to New Zealand. But, there were lessons to be learned and fortunately our entrances only got better from here on out.
