We made several trips up and down the Baja Peninsula in a car. Seems there’s always something you need in the good ol’ USA that you just can’t get in Mexico. The great thing about these trips is the scenery. If you’ve never made this trip it will be very surprising as it goes from beautiful lush mountains filled with wineries and grapes to barren desert land to the incredibly colorful and beautiful Sea of Cortez. Just when you think you’ve seen the most beautiful part of the trip something new appears.
Here’s some of our favorite images both in color and black and white. It’s hard to believe that most of these images were taking from a car window as we traveled along at 70 mph!
Bahía Concepcíon (My first view of it!)
Horses, cows and other animals stand along the roads. You always have to be watching. They can walk out in front of you at anytime.

Just outside San Quitin. There is a lovely hotel there called the El Jardin…highly recommend it!
Mexican roads can be treacherous at best. This is an area that was washed out during Tropical Storm Lidia in September.
Cardon Cactus are the largest cacti in the world. Very beautiful to see.
